Merm

I don't remember how it came to me.

It was January.

I was in this Airbnb, far from everyone, close to nowhere, adrift and yet cosily enclosed in my cocoon.

Perhaps it came in bits and pieces, fragments, this story and all these little ideas.

Prototype of a prototype. The first glimpse of the merm.

To tell a story, to do it in stop motion animation (while I'm at it) and above all, above all, to do everything with my own hands (OK, with the exception of certain elements – to be completely transparent – such as the metal skeleton for the character(s) and things like that, which would add even more time when I'm already short on it).

The story is about this girl. No, she's not a mermaid... yet.

She sails in her submarine, the Code Nautilus (those in the know will remember that I once had a podcast with that name, which consisted of a single episode (one and a half, including the intro)).

I'm not going to reveal any more about the lore for now. It's too early.

In any case, know that I'm currently working on the character as well as... the submarine. Also know that since January, I've had the story, the lore, and all that lovely mess spinning around in my head as if I were watching the same film over and over again, seeing it each time with more clarity, more detail, and more depth.

I can't wait.
